Case Study - Assessing Daylight & Thermal Comfort at Modern Houses

In this assignment, we are required to choose a house which is suitable based on the assingment requirement. For our chosen modern home, which could be a double storey corner lot or a double storey semi-detached house, we must come up with concepts on how to maximise daylight and thermal comfort. After brainstorming possibilities, a fieldwork is necessary for this case study, which also will involve data acquisition and observation of the designated residence. The proposals for enhancing the current condition of thermal comfort and daylight dispersion will be based on passive design strategies. Students can also be expected to use a pertinent mobile phone app for obtaining data during the fieldwork.
