Design Principles
In this assignment, which is a group assignment. In this assignment we are needed to choose a pattern from the previous assignment and based on the pattern, we need to find a shape for our individual models. The individual models are built based on different design principles which we have chose. Then after that, our combined model will be then combined again as a group.
Progress of this Assignment
GROUP ASSIGNMENT
We formed a group of 4 and was given 8 design principles to choose from. We were responsible for two design principles each and I was assigned to do 'Variety' and 'Contrast'.
I started off by doing research on what is 'variety' and 'contrast'. Then after I have gotten the idea of what they are, I started on my individual mock-up model and that is to make a model to define what the design principles are. I made two mock-up models for each design principle.
After getting approval for my mock-up model 2, I started to combine both design principles and made it feel like they are somehow connected with each other. Making it look as natural as possible and I also tried to be innovative at the same time.
After some feedbacks from my tutor, I did some changes to my combined model and settled with it. Then I continued on with our group combinations and also keep track on the progress of each group mates. We tried our best to combine all models together.
Conclusion
Through this assignment, I got to work together with other student of this module and made some new friends. I now know that working in a group is actually tiring as some people may not cooperate well. But overall in this assignment, I had fun making the models and understanding the design principles assigned to me. I had models that were rejected because it did not define the principles well enough and I learnt a lot.
