SPACE AND SENSORY: Self - Exploration through Spaces [Sensory Space]

In this last assignment, it actually relates back to both Project 1 and Project 2 as I need to apply what I have learned from the previous assignments into this last project. In project 1, I have learned about design principles and translating them into a form. Whereas in project 2, I learned a lot on structure, materials, anthropometry and ergonomics. Therefore in project 3, I need to apply all these knowledges into the model to develop it into a series of Sensorial Spaces.

Design Process Sketches and Mock Up Models

In this part of the assignment, I did sketches to what design I want and I also did some researches on interesting models to get inspiration from them and come up with a new idea of my own. There quite a few models which were very attractive so I picked up their features and applied it into my mock up model.

Final Model

After I got some advices and guidance from my tutor, I tried to improve my model by adding elements that were missing such as light and shadow, different sizes for different usages in the ergonomics such as crawling, walking and sitting. All the spaces made represents different stages and challenges met in my life. The model overall reflects on why and how do I want to celebrate myself as this was my theme from project 2.

Drawings

In this part, I need to draw out different types of drawing to represent and communicate the design model. There are drawings which includes the Tattoo Stamps and A3 abstract drawing which are expressive in a way. Then we have the Exploded Axonometric drawing which shows how the model is built and combined together. Lastly, there are also Floor Plan, Elevation View and Section View to show the overall view of this model.
