1: 1 Bamboo Activity Structure
This second assignment is a group project which requires approximately 20 people to work together with each other to complete this project. Our project theme was 'CELEBRATION' which meant that we are to built a bamboo structure that can be used as a space to celebrate something or someone. We were also required to go on site visit and do interviews with the people in charge of the site on what would they prefer to see or have in the structure. Then we designed the structure through sketching and making mock up models and having discussion with the entire group of people to finalize our design and start building the bamboo structure based on 1:1 scale.
Design Process
When we start our group project, we split into smaller groups to work faster to get several designs and to discuss on how the final design should be. There were quite a few interesting models and sketches that were combined and used in the final design.
Mock Up models
Together with the sketches different mock up models were built. There were a few models that was produced by 5 small groups and it was all very interesting. From these mock up models, all of the group members discussed together and try to agree on some designs that should be extracted from each model to combine into a final design. All these mock ups were done beautifully. The models were done in a 1:10 scale.

Final design was pick out and was further develop by a few of our members including me.

How was it Built ?
After getting out the final design, we were ready to start our bamboo model structure which was built to incorporate anthropometry and ergonomics into our 1:1 structure. We went to site visits to get the accurate measurements for the bamboo structure. Then we started on our structure as soon as the materials came in. Although we made mistakes at the start of the process, we still made it through and learnt from our mistakes and worked together with much more communication with each other which made it easier as we take in advices from each other. So after all these our bamboo structure was built perfectly.
